Luke Winter Green

OAK HARBOR, Wash. — Luke Winter Green, 40, died unexpectedly Sunday, Feb. 28, 2021, in Oak Harbor, Washington. He was born on Feb. 6, 1981, in Point Pleasant Beach, New Jersey, the son of Kevin and Jacqie. He grew up in Claremont, New Hampshire, and graduated from Stevens High School in 1999. He married Anett Szvitek on Feb. 17, 2012. He served in the U.S. Navy after high school and had a variety of other jobs afterwards. He tuned pianos; trained and received a CDL and then drove a semi truck across the U.S.; went to school to become a CPO, certified pool instructor; and most recently, was renovating his home using a variety of carpentry, painting and other trade skills he picked up over the years while always maintaining his meticulous attention to detail. He had a love for music and a natural talent for playing guitar, organ and piano. He was well read, liked to collect antique and other books, and had completed the first few chapters of his own novel. Above all, Luke enjoyed laughing and making other people laugh, too. Luke could be described differently by each person he met in life, but something I think we could all agree on is that he was a friend to all. He leaves behind his wife, Anett, his brother, J, and his sister, Jenny. He was predeceased by his father, Kevin, in 2011. Luke was cremated according to his wishes after a viewing by close family. A small remembrance was held at the American Legion in Claremont, New Hampshire, on March 13. He was so brave and so full of love. He will be greatly missed by many and thought of always.
