Marshall J. Waterman Sr. NEWPORT — Marshall J. Waterman Sr., 77, passed away peacefully and surrounded by family at the Jack Byrne Hospice Center in Lebanon on May 4, 2021. He was born on July 13, 1943, in Hanover, New Hampshire, to the late Stanley and Marion Waterman. Marshall worked in the Newport area as a logger since he was a child. When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed fishing and family cookouts. In his younger days, he could be found in his garage working with his tools. Marshall loved his family and loved spending time with them, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Marshall was predeceased by his parents; wife, Deanna (Bertrand) Waterman, in 2016; sons, Jeff Waterman and Fred O’Clair; and some siblings. Surviving family members include his children, Perl O’Clair and his wife, Sheila, of Allenstown, New Hampshire, Melanie O’Grady and her husband, Bob, of Wells, Vermont, Marshall “Mutto” Waterman Jr. and his wife, Patrina, of Lempster, William “Billy” Scanlon and his wife, Mary Beth, of Newport, Shawnee Waterman and her significant other, Don Church IV, of Newport, Jennifer Waterman of Newport, and Lonnie Sprano and her husband, Richard, of Claremont; son-in-law, Jamie Lunderville Sr.; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, siblings and other extended family members. A celebration of Marshall’s life will be held at a later date. Newton-Bartlett Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
