John V. James BELLOWS FALLS, Vt. — John V. James, 69, of Henry Street, died May 8, 2021, at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire. On Jan. 19, 1952, in Bellows Falls, he was born to Walter and Mary (Monte) James. John attended the Saxtons River Grammar School and was a 1970 graduate of Bellows Falls High School. Following school, he worked at James Trucking, Whitcomb’s, St. Johnsbury Trucking and L&B Truck Service. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. He coached in the Connecticut Valley Football League for many years, Bellows Falls Babe Ruth and CYO Basketball. He also umpired during tournaments for the Bellows Falls Little League. He enjoyed playing golf at the Bellows Falls Country Club and loved to go out to breakfast and lunch. He also enjoyed going to his sons’ and grandchildren’s events. On July 15, 1972, in Saxtons River, Vermont, John married Linda Mack who survives. He is also survived by three sons, Jeffrey of North Attleboro, Massachusetts, Jarrod of Bellows Falls and Nicholas of Hawaii; two brothers, Paul of Wilmington, Vermont, and Robert of Jaffrey, New Hampshire; seven grandchildren, Dillon, Avery, Emma, Walker, Cadence, Saul and Tram. Calling hours will be from 4-7 p.m. Sunday, May 16, at the Fenton and Hennessey Funeral Home, 55 Westminster St., Bellows Falls. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, May 17, at 11 a.m. at St. Charles Church in Bellows, Falls, followed by a burial in the St. Charles Cemetery. All COVID-19 restrictions will be followed. Masks are required, and building occupancy is still being enforced.
