Cardinals stay hot, sweep Lakers

Claremont — Dylan Chambers threw a complete game shutout in a 10-0 win against Sunapee, going all six innings, allowing just two hits, walking three, and striking out 11. He threw 105 pitches in the shutout.

The Cardinals scored four in the second inning, one in the third, two in the 5th, and scored three in the sixth to put things away and ran their winning streak to four games while snapping the Lakers winning streak at six games.

A two-run single by Owen Taylor capped off things for the 6-3 Cards as Taylor had two hits, drove in two runs, and scored two runs. Zack Bundy had a hit, an RBI, and scored a run. Dom Puksta had a hit, an RBI, and scored a run. Chambers helped himself on offense with a hit and scored a run. Colby Shepard, Cody Pellerin, and Eric Peaslee all had a hit, as well. Caden Ferland had an RBI and scored a run, as well.

The two teams will meet again on Wednesday in a 5 p.m. contest at Sunapee (9-5).

Zoey Foote had a defensive gem catching a ball on the run for a big out to snuff out a Laker rally.

Makayla Maccioli led the offensive charge going 2-4 driving in four runs. Kylie Bundy, Josie Aiken and Cadience Verrill all with two hits a piece. Aunah Shepard and Alex Perez both doubled for the 8-1 Cardinals.

These same two teams will square off in Sunapee (9-3) on Wednesday for a 5 p.m. start time.
