The Cardinals played their last match of the regular season, taking on the Kearsarge Cougars at Monadnock Park.
Despite a strong effort, Stevens couldn’t get past the heat, fatigue from yesterday’s trek to Wilton, an abbreviated roster and a quality opponent.

Doubles results: Ratcliffe / Bragg 0, Addy Sadler / Callie Valeri 8; Eitapence / Abbott 0, MacDowell / Estelle Chmura 8; Kearsarge wins by forfeit.
The Cardinals will rest and recharge before hitting the practice court next week in preparation for the state tournament.

Stevens softball outhits Sunapee in 16-3 win
The Cardinals started slow but were patient and their patience paid off.
Sunapee went up 2-0 after one inning but that would be the last lead they would see of the night. The Cardinals got five hits in the second inning to drive in four runs to take the lead. Hits by Savo, Foote, Maccioli, Aiken, and Peaslee sparked the offensive which exploded from there. Foote had three hits including a triple and was stellar defensively at second. Maccioli had three hits, with a home run that exploded off her bat. Aiken contributed three hits with a single, double, and a triple and smothered two well hit balls to third getting the outs at first. Bundy had three hits including a double and Peaslee and Savo each had two hits.
Brianna Frisbee went the distance on the mound for the Cardinals allowing three hits while striking out eight.
The Cardinals improve to 9-1. Final week begins with John Stark at home Monday, May 24, at 6 p.m.
Bellows Falls captures a dozen runs against Windsor
It was a good afternoon on the home diamond today for us as we were able to defeat Windsor by a final score of 12-8.
The Bellows Falls bats were alive with Trenton Fletcher (3-4 with three doubles and four RBIs), Caden Haskell (2-3 with three runs scored and two stolen bases), and Jake Moore (2-4 with an RBI single and stolen base) all leading the way.
“Our approach at the plate was very solid today and it was great to see the offense clicking and continuing to grow stronger with each game,” said Bellows Falls coach Brighton Bischofberger. “Our pitchers also put in a solid effort today on the mound.”
Cole Moore battled and kept Bellows Falls in the game through four innings of work. Meanwhile, Trenton Fletcher (two innings pitched, three strikeouts) and Jesse Darrell (one inning pitched, two strikeouts) both pitched well in relief.
“Trenton hasn’t spent much time on the mound at the high school level, so it was fun to watch him sling it and work out of some high-pressure situations,” Bischofberger said. “Jesse looked the best I’ve seen him all season closing out the game in the seventh inning on just nine pitches so it was nice to get a win at home in front of the Terrier family and we certainly cleaned things up compared to our last game. I’m hoping we can take this momentum and get on a roll as we head into the last half of the season.”
