Beverly A. Austin SUNAPEE — Beverly Ann Austin, 84, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on May 17, 2021. She was born on June 24, 1936, in Claremont, New Hampshire, to the late Wilfred and Mildred (Emerson) Chartrand. Beverly grew up on a farm in Newport before moving to Sunapee in 1968 where she lived the rest of her life. She was a truck driver’s wife, strong-willed, resourceful and independent, with a bit of stubbornness. She worked as the Sullivan County Register of Deeds for many years and also worked for Bev’s Place, T-Bird and Ames. Beverly was a devout Catholic attending St. Patrick Church and St. Joachim Church. She was a member of the Women of the Moose #662. Beverly enjoyed crocheting, embroidery and camping. She was a wonderful cook who enjoyed feeding her family and friends. Beverly was predeceased by her loving husband of 57 years, Maurice “Tink” Austin, in 2016; son Allen Austin; brother and sister-in-law, Wilfred Chartrand Jr. and Joanne Chartrand. Surviving family members include son Shawn Austin and his wife, Vickie, of Sunapee; daughter Rebecca Eaton and her life partner, Burton Rock, of Lempster; brother Edward Chartrand and his wife, Janie; surviving widow of her son, Bertha Austin; grandchildren, Amy Rogers and her husband, Tim, of Charlestown, Robin Simoneau and her husband, Peter, of Claremont, Allen Austin Jr. and his wife, Rebecca, of Claremont, Joseph Hancock and his wife, Sara, of Arizona, William Hancock of Manchester, Kassandra Stackpole of Pennsylvania, and Louis Young of Sunapee; several great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members. A celebration of her life will be held at the family home at 329 Nutting Road in Sunapee on Saturday, June 5, 2021, starting at 1 p.m. Newton-Bartlett Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
