Eunice M. Rich

Eunice M. Rich NEWPORT — Eunice M. Rich, 97, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on May 19, 2021. She was born on Nov. 17, 1923, in Hanover, New Hampshire, to the late Ira L. and Lillian B. (Davis) Parker. Eunice grew up in West Lebanon, graduating from West Lebanon High School. She married the late Frank D. Rich in 1941 and they shared 60 years together before his death in 2001. Eunice was a kind, nonjudgmental, loving woman who never had harsh words for anyone. She raised her children with love and helped care for grandchildren and many kids in the neighborhood. Eunice attended the Croydon Congregational Church for many years and was an active member of the Croydon Singers. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, bowling and line dancing. She was leading her line dancing group until the age of 95. She volunteered at the Sunapee Thrift Shop for many years. Eunice was predeceased by her parents; husband; grandsons, Richard and Dean Johnson; brother, Howard Parker; and sisters, Lois Devins and Jane Sanborn. Surviving family members include children, Natalie Johnson and her husband, James, Dave Rich and his wife, Sharon, Brenda Blackington, and Glenda Parrotto, all of Newport; sisters, Joyce Hill of Sunapee and Barbara Cutts of Connecticut; grandchildren, Brian Johnson and his wife, Stacy, Eric Rich and his wife, Mindy, Becky Stapleton and her husband, Pat, Heather Wagner and her boyfriend, Ron Deroiser, Brady Dezan and her boyfriend, John Morin; several great-grandchildren; and many extended family members. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Croydon Congregational Church, 29 Croydon Turnpike, Croydon, NH 03773. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 3, 2021, at 10 a.m. in Highland Cemetery in Lyme, New Hampshire, with Pastor Erin Wessells officiating. Newton-Bartlett Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
