New Hampshire baseball and softball playoffs start next week

CLAREMONT — The New Hampshire Interscholastic Athletic Association has released the pairings for spring tournaments. Teams will once again begin the tournament in their regional seedings and work their way into the final rounds. The NHIAA recommends that all participants wear masks with the semi-finals scheduled for Wednesday, June 9, and the finals scheduled for June 12 at various sites. According to the NHIAA, team records from the regular season was not considered when placing teams in the bracket. Rather, proximity to one another within the cluster was the presiding factor utilized to set up the bracket. Team numbers/positions in the bracket were randomly generated.

Division 2 Region 4Stevens baseball hosts John Stark on Monday, May 31, at 7 p.m.

Stevens softball hosts Bow on Monday, May 31, at 6 p.m.

Division 3 Region 4

Newport baseball hosts the winner of Mascoma and Monadnock on Thursday, June 3, at 4 p.m.

Kearsarge baseball hosts Fall Mountain on Thursday June 3, at 4 p.m.

Newport softball hosts the winner of Kearsarge and Monadnock on Wednesday, June 2, at 4 p..m

Fall Mountain softball hosts the winner of Mascoma and Lebanon on Wednesday, June 2, at 4 p.m.

Division 4 Region 2Concord Christian baseball hosts Sunapee on Monday, May 31, at 4 p.m.

Wilton softball hosts Sunapee on Wednesday, June 2, at 4 p.m.

If a school participating in the playoffs has more restrictive playing requirements than those prescribed by the NHIAA, in the spirit of sportsmanship and by mutual agreement, the council supports the two school playing by the more restrictive policies.
