CLAREMONT —Claremont Motorsports Park’s ambitious Memorial Day Weekend racing schedule took a beating when rain forced cancellation of Sunday’s Granite State Pro Stock 100 show, less than 48 hours after Friday night’s event was largely washed away
While Sunday’s event was scratched early, Friday’s fell victim to sweeping showers after six qualifying races and the night’s Six Shooter feature had been completed. Robert Shaw earned his first victory of the summer in the Six Shooter 20-lapper while Dustin Thibodeau – undefeated in the division’s previous three 2021 races – was a non-factor Friday after being collected in a lap-one tangle.
In earlier heat races, 20 spots in the 24-car starting field of the Cody Lafont Memorial Race were set. That popular annual event has been rescheduled for Friday, June 18.
The always-exciting Four Cylinder Enduro lost to rain on Sunday has been rescheduled to this Friday – June 4 – night’s event, when the Thrasher Road speedplant roars back into action with a full card of oval track racing including twin Late Model Sportsman features, along with Street Stock, Mini Stock, Pure Stock, and Six Shooter action. Post time Friday is 7 p.m.
