Jessie F. Greene SPRINGFIELD, Vt. — Jessie Frances Greene, 99, passed away at her home on Tuesday afternoon, June 15, 2021, surrounded by her loving family. She was born Oct. 30, 1921, in Ludlow, Vermont, the daughter of Marvin and Avis (Pinney) Jaegar. She attended school in Ludlow and graduated from Hartford High School. She married Bernard Greene in 1941 in Quechee, Vermont. He predeceased her in 1979. Mr. and Mrs. Greene owned and operated the Curve-In Restaurant, the Ten Eyke Diner and the Duck Inn Restaurant in Springfield. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends and enjoyed bowling. She is survived by four children, Judith Greene of Springfield, Vermont, Raymond Greene of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Larry Greene of West Lebanon, New Hampshire, and Dale Greene of Cavendish, Vermont; also by nine grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Bernard; and her sisters, Louise Scruton and Lea Green. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday. June 21, 2021, at the Davis Memorial Chapel in Springfield, Vermont. Reverend Michael Mario will officiate. Friends may call at the Davis Memorial Chapel from 9–10 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Oakland Cemetery in Springfield, Vermont. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011.
