Wildcat junior Mitch Cormier has packed his golf bag and will be taking part in the High School National High School Association Invitational golf tournament (NHSGA) at Pinehurst Resort in North Carolina.
As a sophomore, Cormier took home the New Hampshire Division 3 2020-2021 championship and will be facing the top high school golfers from all 50 states in this invitational only tournament.
Cormier will have practice rounds starting on Saturday while the tee time for the competition will have him on the tee for a 9:10 a.m. on the Pinehurst #8 course. This course plays 7,099 yards while Pinehurst #7 is 6,824 yards and Pinehurst #9 totals 7,118 yards and was constructed by Jack Nicholson.
The three-day tournament will take place over three courses and is a 54-stroke play event.
There are a total of 560 golfers who will be be looking to take home the crown just like Tiger Woods did in 1992. Cormier plays out of Hooper Golf Club in Walpole and the Keene Country Club.
