TLC Family Resource Center will open doors at its new location at 62 Pleasant St. in Claremont on Monday, June 28. TLC Family Resource Center and TLC Recovery Programs (formally knows as The Center for Recovery Resources) are moving together into the new, larger space in what is known as the historic Goddard Building in downtown Claremont.
“TLC has been looking for a place to grow into for several years,” said TLC Executive Director Stephanie Slayton. “The Goddard Building is a great location that will provide space for new youth programs, additional family support services, activities for the LGBTQ+ community and significantly expanded recovery programs.”
TLC partners with families and individuals as they learn new skills, connect to community resources and build resilience to thrive. Over the past year, TLC has seen the number of people reaching out for information and support more than double.
“Interest and participation in TLC Recovery Programs and TLC Family Support has grown significantly,” Slayton said. “We are offering several new recovery support groups and have added staff and volunteers so that we can ensure that every child in our community has the best start.”
TLC’s new location is equipped with state-of-the art technology so that staff can continue to connect with families and individuals who may have transportation barriers. TLC has added a Sensory Playroom for children age 0-8 as well as a Community Room where youth, LGBTQ+, and partner agencies can gather for activities and events.
“We really see this as a community space where partners, families and businesses can join us in creating innovative programs that support and strengthen our community,” Slayton said. “Bringing recovery programs, youth programs and family programs under one roof is going to make it easier for families to access all of TLC’s services.”
TLC Family Resource Center moved out of its offices at 109 Pleasant Street in Claremont last fall and TLC Recovery Programs will move out of 1 Pleasant Street in Claremont on June 23rd. The offices will be closed June 23 through June 25 during the move but will reopen on Monday, June 28, at 62 Pleasant St. Peer Support Groups such as AA and NA will continue to be hosted at 1 Pleasant Street through June 27.
