BELLOWS FALLS, Vt. — Bellows Falls Post 37 hosted Bennington Post 13 on Thursday but the rain was a problem.
After an early start, Bellows Fall scored two runs in the second inning and two in the the third inning taking a 4-0 lead into the top of the fifth as both coach’s agreed to try and get through five inning.
Bennington scored four runs in the top of the fifth to tie but the game was suspended tied at four after 4-1/2 innings with a heavy rain making an appearance forcing the game to be resumed at a later date.
Bellows Falls 4, Rutland 3In a game under the lights at Bellows Falls Union High School on Hadley Field, Post 37 defeated Rutland Post 31 by a score of 4-3.
Bellows Falls took an early 4-0 lead by scoring one in the first and three runs in the third inning before Rutland scored one in the fourth and two in the fifth inning to cut the lead to 4-3.
Bellows Falls left the bases loaded in the fifth inning and Rutland left the bases loaded in sixth inning.
Matt Hayes was the winning pitcher and McGregor Vancor notched the save. Terriault took the loss for Post 31.
