Hi everyone! As we pen this letter, we think about some who say the letter is too long and rambles. Well, we guess, in a way, they are right. But this may be because we are so proud of our Center. And so are the the other senior centers in the area proud of theirs. We all thoroughly enjoy what we offer our seniors. Yes, sometimes it’s a lot of work, but the more hands we have, the easier it is. So, here’s to all the Senior Centers who make our lives more interesting and fun.
Our Center will be closed on Monday, July 5, for the holiday There will be a membership meeting with elections on Tuesday, July 6, at 1 p.m. Please plan to attend. There will be updates on all the upcoming events and projects.
Our first concert will be on Saturday, July 3, from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. We will be entertained by the fabulous East Bay Jazz Band. This band is always a pleasure to listen to. Thank you Crown Point Cabinetry for sponsoring them. Strawberry Shortcake and beverages will be available. This concert is free and open to the public. Bring your chair. If it rains the concert will be inside.
It’s almost here! the Huge, Gigantic, Stupendous Penny Sale!! Over 300 gifts for your selection. Put those tickets in the cups – a whole bag is it is something you really want. The door prizes include a foot massager, a cordless snow blower, maple syrup, a soda stream beverage maker and more. The special raffles include a silver bracelet with stones, a pioneer woman kitchen set, garden bench with tools, a new wet vac., a hunting knife, back packs and more. Doors open at 11 a.m. and the DJ announced drawings start at 1 p.m. Food will be available. We will post the menu which will include Gary’s Corn Chowder. Join us!
Our weeks are starting to burst at the seams! Presenting the Senior Men’s Breakfast on Monday, July 19, serving at 8:15 a.m. Doors open at 8 a.m. Being served will be nice looking pancakes, regal sausages or open your mouth bacon, cold juice and hot coffee. Great food, lousy service.
Members are $2, nonmembers are $3. Speaker will be at 8:45 a.m. or so. Remember, we are air conditioned.

The Blood Drive will be on Monday, July 12, from noon to 5 p.m. Call 1-800-RED-CROSS to make your appointment. Every month we tell you how precious your donation is. This time of year, it is even more so. Travel, reunions, weddings. Any one of these could create a condition where your blood could save life. Please give. Thank you.

We are really excited about this one. After all, why should the boys have all the fun. The others waiting for names-men or women- are cribbage and Mexican Train Dominoes. Don’t forget our trial membership to try us out.
Our next concert will be on Friday, Aug. 6. Roz Caplan was nice enough to sponsor The Firehouse 6. We are so lucky to have this wonderful band from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Ice cream sundaes and beverages will be available. This concert is free and open to the public. Bring you chair.
The preparations for the Car Show are going well. The Committee chairs are busy making sure each venue is perfect. We a e receiving excellent response to the show. Mark your calendar for Sunday, Aug 29, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. More details as we gt closer. Look for our fliers.
