5 divisions to race Friday

By Gary Dutton
CLAREMONT — The exciting 602 Dirt Modifieds will be in town for their fourth race of the year on Friday, Aug. 13, at Claremont Motorsports Park.

The twisting, sliding small blockers will be one of five divisions in competition at the Thrasher Road speedplant.

The slideways crew will be joined by the LaValley Building Supply Pure Stocks, Route 103 Late Model Sportsmen, In City Sugar Shack Mini Stocks, and Avery Insurance Six Shooters, all competing for valuable championship points as the second half of the 2021 racing season heats up, as well as the competitors of the Claremont Karting Series.

The Pure Stockers will be contesting double feature races Friday as the deep and talented field goes to battle twice. Four-cylinder star Kodi Sabins topped last Friday’s feature, leading a virtual All Star field under the checkers in the 23-car, 25-lap event.

Haydon Grenier and Dustin Thibodeau stayed red hot in the Mini Stock and Six Shooters respectively on Friday, and Ricky Bly edged co-powerhouse Ben Poland in the LMS main. The Street Stocks will not race Friday, having the weekend off to compete in an New Hampshire Short Track Racing Association (NHSTRA) Battle For The Belt event at Lee.

Action gets underway promptly at 7 p.m. each Friday at Claremont Motorsports Park. For more information, please visit the speedway’s website or Facebook page.
