WESTMINSTER, Vt. — A body found in the Saxtons River in Westminster on Monday is likely that of a missing New York City woman and the death was accidental, the Vermont State Police said Monday.
Erika Seyfried, 36, of Brooklyn, was last seen around 11 a.m. Sunday when she had gone for a walk with her dog while in the area vacationing with her husband. She was reported missing about 8 p.m. on Sunday.
On Monday members of the Vermont State Police dive team located a body in the river.
The body is being transported to the office of the Vermont Chief Medical Examiner for an autopsy to confirm the identity and determine the cause and manner of death.
The investigation into the death is continuing.
