Local Recaps: Fall Mountain XC wins meet at Cheshire Fairgrounds

Monadnock Regional High School hosted a cross country Meet on Tuesday at the Cheshire Fairgrounds. The six participating schools were Conant, Derryfield, Fall Mountain, Hinsdale, Mascenic, Mascoma, and Monadnock.

With four of their runners placing in the top 10, the Fall Mountain boys ran away with the win.

Mascenic runners took first and third while Monadnock claimed the second and fifth spots.

Leading the Fall Mountain squad, Benjamin Tetu was fourth with a time of 17:21. Fall Mountain’s David Northcott and Ben Frithsen were sixth and seventh at 18:20, followed by Edward Gowdy in ninth with a time of 18:39. Other Fall Mountain runners placed as follows: Gabe Lloyd in twelfth at 19:06, Walter Lions at 21:06, Marcus Flynn and Caleb Kinson at 21:53, Troy Feller at 23:37

James Paulette at 25:10, Francis Aldrich at 25:40, and Braydon Patch at 25:51.

The Fall Mountain girls team had a solid first race of the season led by Ruby Frithsen finishing in a time of 26:14 and followed by Jennifer Mallet at 29:30.

Fall Mountain cross county’s next meet will be next Wednesday at Conant High School.

Cormier wins againMitch Cormier grabbed another win during the quad match on Thursday.

Fall Mountain grabbed a win as Bow grabbed top honors on the day.

Bow 3-0, Conant 2-1, Fall Mountain 1-2, Laconia 0-3.

Cameron Fry had a solid day for the Wildcats against a very impressive Bow squad.

Woodstock scores four in win over WindsorIn the first half both Olivia MacLeay and Elliot Rupp had two shots on goal. The score was 1-0 at the half with Sophia Rockwood making four saves before the half. Woodstock scored in the 30th minute of the second half to go up 2-0. Audrey Rupp scored Windsors goal 5 min later to cut the lead in half. Woodstock scored two more goals to round out the game in the last 10 minutes. Sophia Rockwood ended with 10 saves, Elliot and Olivia tallied 5 shots each and Audrey Rupp had four total shots, one goal.

Windsor, now 0-3, will travel to Green Mountain on Tuesday.

BBA beats Windsor 3-1 in field hockeyIt was an evenly-matched game but BBA came away with the win scoring all its goals on the corners.

BBA had eight corners compared to Windsor’s three.

Lyndsey young had seven saves on the day in net.

Peyton Richardson had the lone goal assisted by Karen Kapuscinski and Meagan Holling.

BBA goals were by Fien Bueters assisted by Katie Crabtree, Lili Zens assisted by Fien Bueters, and Maggie Crabtree assisted by Fien Bueters.

Windsor drops to 1-2 and travels to Otter Valley on Monday for a 4 p.m. game.
