As we get closer to our annual weekend celebration, plans are being finalized for the annual parade with floats, cars, trams, bands, pipes, and drum units. This past week, three more classes have expressed interest in participating in the parade, which would make 20 classes supporting the 150th celebration. How wonderful is that. Your class can still register an entry of some sort in the parade but time is getting short so please do It asap. Dick Girard, our parade chairman, can make it happen for you.
Some exciting news from the Claremont Opera House: In conjunction with our weekend celebration, the Claremont Opera House has booked a vintage pop and jazz singer / songwriter, Kat Edmonson to perform on the evening of Friday, Oct. 1. In honor of Stevens Alumni 150th reunion, they are offering one free ticket for each alumni who graduated prior to 1972. A big thank you to the Claremont Opera House. Sponsored by the Joan and Tom Kane Endowment, this show should be a excellent. Another much anticipated highlight of the parade will be Pat, the New England Patriots mascot, accompanied by one of the cheerleaders. They will sign posters and mingle with the spectators during the parade. So be sure to wave and welcome them to our 150th reunion day celebration.

Please take note: A change to our entertainment at the Visitors Center after the Chilli Cook off! The entertainment location has been changed to the American Legion on Broad St. We feel that as the weather is getting cooler and daylight shorter it would be more enjoyable to go inside, sit down and enjoy the music. Who knows, you might see old friends and classmates to reminisce with. The band is still Backwoods Ax Co. Band and is also performing in the parade for your listening pleasure. Admittance to the dance is free to Alumni and open to the public. Come and enjoy.
The annual meeting is at 2 p.m. following the parade and a light luncheon of finger rolls and desserts will be served at no charge. Desserts will be provided by Uptown Bakery and Custom Cakes by Tammi.
