Goshen library puts on fun fall programs

The Olive G. Pettis Memorial Library is thrilled to be offering fun, fall programs for all ages!

We have so much going on this fall we wanted to share the fun with our larger community and warmly welcome you all to join us.

Creepy Campfire Tales

For those enjoying a bit of nostalgia, please join the staff, trustees and Friends of Olive G. Pettis Memorial Library for an evening of s’mores, spooky stories and fun! Meet us at Gunnison Beach in Goshen on Friday, Oct. 1.

Preschool Storytime is from 6 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Elementary Storytime is from 7 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Middle School through Adult Storytime is at 8 p.m.

We’ll bring the s’mores and scares! You bring your blankets and chairs!

Lilyan Wright 5k/10k Trail Fun Run

This is an all ages trail run with proceeds supporting Olive G Pettis Memorial Library’s efforts to create an outdoor community space for all to enjoy.

The Trail run is part of the Western New Hampshire Trail Running Series, and will be a great opportunity to give trail running a go.

The run starts at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 2.

Please plan to arrive early if you’re interested in registering on the day of the race.

Jeff Belanger: New England Legends

We’re so excited to be able to offer an evening with Jeff Belanger. There will be a multi-media presentation, Q&A session, and book signing. Interested in learning more about Jeff Belanger, and his work? Visit his website to learn more: jeffbelanger.com.

Based on Jeff’s popular weekly podcast and his Emmy-nominated television series on PBS and Amazon Prime, the program presents highlights from his own adventures and work. The bizarre is closer than you think!”

Be sure to join us on Friday, Oct. 8, in the Goshen Town Hall for this 7 p.m. program. We do have limited seating, so entry will be on a first come first served basis. We strongly suggest you arrive early to be sure to get seats. We will be following COVID guidelines for this event. Refreshments will be available. This is one you won’t want to miss! Come early, and be sure to invite your friends and family too!

Haunted Happenings

Goshen is putting together an evening of fun and adventures for our larger community on Saturday, Oct. 23. Halloween costumes are highly encouraged during all activities!

The evening starts with our annual Trunk Or Treat from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Want to participate and decorate your car this year? Contact Olive G. Pettis Memorial Library — we’d love you to join in! This year’s theme is Family Game Night!

After Trunk or Treat the library will tell family friendly stories along with other family friendly events from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Things will get really scary starting at 7 p.m. as the library hosts a guided walk along our trail of terror. Are you brave enough to learn about the Curse of Blood Mountain? Be sure to come with your friends, this will be a fun night that you surely won’t want to miss!
