NEW LONDON — Superintendent Winfried Feneberg is pleased to announce Kearsarge Regional High School’s November student of the month.
Sophie Lick, a freshman from Warner, was selected for the honor based on nominations from school staff. As president of the freshman class (Class of 2025), Sophie has shown genuine enthusiasm for learning and a sincere desire to support her peers.
“Sophie is such a motivated student leader,” said KRHS English Teacher Amanda Leslie. “She is always on the ball, planning great things and engaging her peers. She does not wait for things to get, but does them.”
“She brings a lot of light and fun to our Spanish class, always asking questions and participating in a genuinely curious fashion,” said KRHS Spanish Teacher Liz Perez. “I’m looking forward to seeing what else she can do as the year progresses. She is definitely deserving of this accolade!”
In addition to being freshman class president, Sophie is also a part of the KRHS Actors Guild and is participating in the Guild’s performance of “Puffs” this fall.
“Sophie is a caring and passionate member of our community. She has built especially strong connections with her fellow cast members from ‘Puffs,’ said KHRS Science Teacher Lindsey Herlihy. “Her enthusiasm and efforts to include others were especially notable during the schoolwide pumpkin carving contest, where she galvanized the crew to create exciting props for our pumpkin display.”
Sophie’s favorite things about KRHS are the extra-curricular activities available to students, such as Theater and Student Council.
“I also love seeing my friends everyday,” she said.
