Cheryl (Santos) Fernald GOSHEN — Cheryl (Santos) Fernald, 54, of Goshen, New Hampshire, passed away Nov. 8, 2021, with her mother and children at her side after a 13-year battle with brain cancer. Cheryl was born Sept. 24, 1967, in Tom’s River, New Jersey, and moved to Connecticut as a child before moving to New Hampshire to raise her family. A teacher at heart, Cheryl worked for both the Fall Mountain and Claremont school districts and was known for her love of gardening and landscaping, which led her to a career as the nursery manager at the Windham Foundation in Grafton, Vermont. Known for her bold and spunky personality, Cheryl was always the life of the party no matter if the room was filled with family or complete strangers. Her enthusiasm and light-heartedness will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Cheryl is survived by her mother, Judy Santos, of Niantic, Connecticut; her brothers, Daniel (Traci) Santos III, of Waterford, Connecticut, John (Leanne) Santos, of East Lyme, Connecticut, and Jeff (Dana) Santos, of Quaker Hill, Connecticut; her children, Kaleigh (Justin) Canfield, of Lempster, New Hampshire, and Ryan (Arianna) Fernald, of Lebanon, New Hampshire; as well as her granddaughter, Daniella; and many nieces and nephews. A wake will be held Dec. 2 from 5-7 at Neilan Funeral Home in Niantic, Connecticut. A Mass will be celebrated Dec. 3 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church in Niantic, Connecticut. A celebration of life will be held in New Hampshire, details to follow.
