Kathryn (Montefusco) Chartier NEWPORT — Kathryn Marie (Montefusco) Chartier, 57, of Newport, New Hampshire, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, Nov. 25, 2021, surrounded by family, after a brave battle with cancer. Kathy was born in New York and grew up in Claremont, New Hampshire, where she graduated from Stevens High School in the class of 1983. She had resided in Newport, New Hampshire, with her family since 2004. Kathy enjoyed spending time outdoors. She worked at Pillsbury State Park as a park ranger, where she met an incredibly special friend, Tracy Kimball. She enjoyed bowling as a part of her bowling team “Sunday Night Break Away.” A homebody at heart, Kathy loved spending time at home watching her cooking and game shows, being with her dog, Buster, and spending her favorite holiday, Christmas, with family and friends. Her greatest happiness in life was her family. Kathy adored her two beautiful daughters, Jacki and Rachel. She loved to spend time with her sister, Kara, and spoil her four grandchildren. She cherished the 37-and-a-half years she spent married to the love of her life, Donnie. She was loved deeply and will truly be missed by all who had the pleasure of meeting her. Kathy was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Phyllis Montefusco. She is survived by her husband, Donald S. Chartier; two daughters, Jacquelyn (Chartier) Dashnaw and husband Mike, and Rachel Chartier; one brother, Frank Montefusco and wife Lorena; one sister, Kara Santti and husband Norman; four grandchildren, Silas, Jasmine, Mia and Cole Dashnaw; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the VNH Visiting Nurse and Hospice.
