Rachel M. Chastenay

Rachel M. Chastenay CLAREMONT — Rachel Mae Chastenay, 71, of 3703 Deepwood Drive, Johnson City, Tennessee, was born March 19, 1950, and went to be with the Lord on Dec. 1, 2021, at 5:50 a.m. She was an avid quilter and enjoyed restoring old antique items. She loved her cats, Murphie and Josie, and living in Tennessee. She graduated from Stevens High School in Claremont, New Hampshire, Class of 1968. She later attended River Valley Community College in Claremont, where she studied medical assistance. She worked at Valley Regional Hospital in the lab until retirement. Rachel moved to Johnson City, Tennessee, from Claremont, New Hampshire, almost three years ago. Rachel was preceded in death by her father, Raymond Bullock; and mother, Betty Latouche Bullock. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Phil Chastenay I, whom she married on March 14, 1970; two sons, Phil Chastenay II and wife Jan, of Claremont, New Hampshire, Tony Chastenay and partner Cheryl Ann Withrow, of Unity, New Hampshire; three sisters, Dee Rondinone and husband David, of Laurel Bloomery, Tennessee, Karen Mongeon and husband Steve, of Mountain City, Tennessee, Debbie Spackman and husband Mike, of Brownsville, Vermont; brother, Raymond Bullock and wife Cathy, of Rockingham, Vermont. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Rachel’s name to a cardiac research center of your choice. Rachel’s life will be celebrated in the summer of 2022. The family will make an announcement when a time has been chosen.
