SPRINGFIELD, Vt. — Springfield police are investigating the untimely death of a man who fell from a second story window ledge on Tuesday morning.
Authorities said first responders received a call from a passerby outside 2 Seavers Brook Road who observed a man on the ground who appeared to be dead.
Springfield Lieutenant Patrick Call and Police Chief Mark Fountain processed the scene and identified the man as 60-year-old Dakarr Thorsson.
The investigation is still in the preliminary stage, according to Fountain.
“It appears that the man was climbing outside his apartment window to sit on the window ledge and lost his footing,” Fountain said. “Although the fatality is still under investigation.”
The Springfield Fire Department responded to help law enforcement process the scene.
“Springfield Fire Department helped set up a privacy canopy for respect and privacy of the deceased while we investigated and processed the scene,” Fountain said.
