Janice E. Aiken SPRINGFIELD, Vt. — Janice E. Aiken, 78, passed away on Dec. 14, 2021, at the Springfield Health & Rehab. Center in Springfield, Vermont. She was born April 22, 1943, in Quincy, Massachusetts, the daughter of Charles and Connie Wentworth. She attended school and graduated from high school in Massachusetts. On Nov. 11, 1966, she married Charles L. Aiken in Quincy, Massachusetts, He predeceased her on July 21, 2001. She met Charles while working for taxi cab service in Quincy. She was a dispatcher and he, taxi cab driver. Janice worked in a shoe factory and as a nurse’s aide at nursing homes in Massachusetts for many years, and later worked at the Springfield Health & Rehab Center as a CNA for several years. She also worked as a bartender at the Springfield VFW Post, a job she loved. She loved animals, especially her dog, Brandi. She loved dancing with her husband, Charles, who was the love of her life. She enjoyed camping, socializing, and was always positive and happy. Janice was involved in the Color Guard with her daughter, Donna, when she was in school. She is survived by her daughter, Donna Lique; twin brothers, Brian Wentworth and Bruce Wentworth; and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Davis Memorial Chapel in Springfield, Vermont, on Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2021, from 4 to 6 p.m. Burial will be held in the spring of 2022 in the Vermont Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Randolph Center.
