Due to the recent increase in COVID-19 transmission, and in keeping with state and federal public health guidance, masks are again required when visiting the Springfield Senior Center. Thank you for helping us protect our community.
Board Games will be on Wednesday, Dec. 29, and Friday, Jan. 7, at 1 p.m. Hand & Foot cards will be on Friday, Dec. 31, and Wednesday, Jan. 12, at 1 p.m. Corn Hole will be on Tuesday, Jan. 4, at 1 p.m. Come down and have some fun! We now have indoor walking in the gym on Mondays at 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and Tuesday through Friday 1 a.m. to noon. The Knit Wits will be meeting on Thursday, Jan. 6, at 1 p.m.
The Springfield Senior Center will be closed on Friday, Dec. 24, Monday, Dec. 27, and Tuesday, Dec. 28.
If Springfield schools are closed due to weather, the Center will also be closed. If there is a two-hour delay for schools, the center will open at 10 a.m. Cribbage will be cancelled on a two-hour delay.
The center will be holding our annual food drive again this year. If you have an extra canned or boxed item to donate that would help out a person and/or family in need.
Appointments will be needed for the foot clinics. You can call the center to schedule one. The price for this service will still be $20. Janet Hunter RN, will be offering clinics on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
The Springfield Take off Pounds Sensibly (TOPS) meets here every Thursday morning at 8:30 a.m. TOPS is the original weight loss support group that was founded in 1948. Interested people can stop by the morning of their meetings for more information.
