Shelley E. Decoteau CLAREMONT — Shelley E. Decoteau (Olivia Somers) passed suddenly on Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2021, at Valley Regional Hospital. She was predeceased by her mother, Veronica Joslyn; father, Charles R. Safford; and a brother, Thomas King. She leaves behind two daughters, Hannah Decoteau and Melissa Decoteau; a son, Jeremy Verrill; sisters, Charlene Miller, Karen Safford-Utenis, Allison Votaw and Sariah Herriott; brothers, Owen Safford, Nephi Safford and Kenneth King; and six grandchildren. She was a beacon that shined brightly during joyous times of her life. Her love for this world was at times quiet and hidden, but those who understood her best, understood her light. She adored music and danced in her heart and mind. It was her beautiful escape. A survivor of adversity, she conquered with her beautiful smile. Memories of joyous times and love for her soul will always continue, a fighter to the end, she showed love so eloquently and brilliant. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Dec. 30, at 11 a.m. at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad St., Claremont. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery.
