Local Roundup: FM boys win home opener

Brady Elliott iced the game for the Wildcats hitting five free throws down the stretch for Mitch Harrision’s ball club. With Jack Wildes defense against Hillsboro-Deering a difference maker, the Wildcats are on a two-game winning streak.

Elliott led Fall Mountain with 28 points while Foster Willet added 23 points.

Stevens 41, Belmont 30The short-handed Cardinals (3-1) won a defensive struggle, holding the Red Raiders (2-4) to just seven points (and two field goals) in the first half.

Belmont got within two on a couple of occasions in the second half, but big 3-pointers by Hunter LaRocque, Kayden LaClair, and Reeve Wilkinson in the final five minutes sealed the win.

LaRocque led all scorers with 14 and Ty Theriault added 11 for Stevens. Sam Reposa had 10 points for Belmont.

Windsor 47, Springfield 27Kabray Rockwood’s Lady Yellow Jackets improve to 7-0.

Windsor was led by Reese Perry 16 points, 13 rebounds, and three steals. Peyton Richardson added eight points, four rebounds, and four steals.

Elliot Rupp contributed seven points, eight assists, five rebounds, and four steals. And Sydney Perry had five points and five rebounds.

Springfield was paced by Macie Stagner with eight points and Megan Stagner with seven points.
