Brady Elliott led Fall Mountain with 17 points and Carmine Sweeney and Mitch Cormier each dropped in nine points all from beyond the arc. Kyle Fisher returned to the lineup and produced big results in the paint and finished with six points.
“The third quarter was probably our best quarter of the year,” said Fall Mountain head coach Mitch Harrison as the Wildcats took a 40-16 lead into the final frame after Fall Mountain led at the break 24-11.
FM 57, Newport 34 in boys JV action
The Newport Tigers junior varsity team put a first quarter scare into the undefeated Fall Mountain Wildcats junior varsity team with a score of 14-6.
But the Wildcats took control the rest of the game for a convincing 57-34 win and their eighth straight victory.
Ledger Willett (18 points) Owen Riendeau (11 points) and Jacob Hearne (eight points) led the Wildcats scoring with Tyson Patch controlling the boards.
Newport was led by Forthyse and Fellows with 14 and 12, respectively.
After a 1-11 record last season, junior varsity coach Craig Harlow has his group sitting at 8-0 this year.
Cardinals no problems with Campbell, 61-24
Steve Condon’s team ripped off a 25-2 first quarter explosion led by Alyssa Paquette (nine), Kiley Bundy (eight), and Stella Lavertue (six) and coasted to their sixth win of the season.
Bundy paced the Cardinals with 22 points including four 3-pointers and Paquette dropped in 16 points as Stevens improves to 6-1 on the season.
Postponements
Windsor girls vs Leland and Gray postponed on Thursday.
