Suzanne Grobe

Suzanne Grobe PLAINFIELD — Suzanne “Sue” Grobe passed away Jan. 8, 2022, in the comfort of her home, with her husband and daughter at her side. Sue was born March 23, 1961, to Kenneth and Joyce (Levesque) Robert. She spent her childhood growing up in Lebanon and graduated from Lebanon High School in 1979 – the year she met the love of her life, Jeff. In 1981, the two were united as one by the Grobe family pond, surrounded by their families and close friends. At this time, Sue was employed by Luminescent Systems. She later worked at the Valley News, until right before they welcomed their long-awaited daughter, Lauren, in 1991. She felt being present for her family was most important, and started watching children out of her home so that she could watch her daughter grow. She cared for many children for over 20 years. Most recently, she became a Nana and welcomed her first grandson, Gavin Jeffrey, whom she adored and who brought her so much joy. Sue knew her way around the kitchen and took great pride in everything she made. It was no secret that family and friends enjoyed her cooking and she was often complimented on any dish she cooked or baked. Her best baking specialty was a mean loaf of her Anadama bread that family and friends were always eager to receive. She loved talking and reliving memories of the past – some of her favorites were the summers she, Jeff and Lauren spent camping with a special group of friends. She enjoyed any time she got to spend with those she loved – especially when she could share in a good conversation or sing and dance to her favorite songs. Sue loved the ocean, and she looked forward to her family’s yearly trip to Hampton Beach every August. Sitting on the oceanfront balcony watching people, listening to the sounds of the ocean and acoustic performers while soaking up the sunshine was something she often talked about and anticipated. She loved the serenity of the beach. She was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Robert; her mother, Joyce Robert; paternal grandparents, Edward and Beatrice Robert; maternal grandparents, Herman and Florence Levesque; as well as many other relatives and friends. She talked highly of her grandparents, but her Grammie Levesque held an extra special place in her heart as she was just like another mother to her. Sue is survived by her husband of 40 years, Jeffrey Grobe, of Plainfield; daughter Lauren (Justin) Rogers, of Orford; grandson Gavin Jeffrey, of Orford; brother Scott (Michele) Robert, of Grafton; as well as several aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews. Please join our family on Jan. 21 at Ricker Funeral Home in Lebanon for calling hours from 4-6 p.m., followed by a short and special service at 6 p.m. for our Suz. An online guest book is available to leave a message of condolence by visiting www.rickerfuneralhome.com.
