SPRINGFIELD, Vt. — Springfield Police are searching for a suspect involved in a pharmacy robbery who held an employee at knifepoint on Sunday night.
Authorities say the investigation began shortly after 5 p.m. when officers responded to a call of an armed robbery at the Rite Aid Pharmacy located in the Springfield Shopping Plaza.
Described as a white man about 6 feet tall and dressed in a black wool mid-length coat, dark pants, and a blue knit cap, the suspect entered the store before immediately going behind the front counter and pointing a knife at the store manager.
The robber took an undisclosed amount of cash from the registers and left the area on foot in the direction of the Black River footbridge.
The town of Springfield has reported half a dozen robberies or attempted robberies in less than three weeks with the first one occurring in the early hours of Thursday, Jan. 6. It is unclear whether these robberies are related.
