John G. Cushing CORNISH — John G. Cushing, 86, a longtime Cornish resident, passed away Dec. 17, 2021, at the Maine General Medical Center in Augusta, Maine. John was born July 20, 1935, in Concord, New Hampshire, and was the eldest son of Gordon and Alice Cushing, of Windsor, Vermont. He received his schooling in Windsor, Vermont, and graduated from Windsor High School in 1953. He entered the U.S. Army in 1958, serving in Korea for a year, and several bases across the United States. Following the Army, John returned to Windsor where he worked for the Cone Blanchard Machine Co. for 40 years. During that time, he worked as a field service representative, on the Cone assembly floor, and as a machine operator. In 1972, John and his wife, Harriet, completed their new home on the Town House Road, where they resided for many happy years. John was a gentle, good-natured man who enjoyed walking in the woods, spending time at their camp in Vermont and target shooting. He was predeceased by his parents and his wife, Harriet. He is survived by two brothers, James Cushing and his wife, Diana, of Windsor, and Jeffrey Cushing, of Waterville Maine, as well as several nephews. Currently, no services are planned.
