Local Roundup: Stevens bowlers grab 1st place

Stevens Cardinals bowling team seniors Colby Craig, Anthony Lacaillade, RJ Raymond, Cam Bard, Alexys Corliss, Wildcat Carlos Grenier, and Haydon Grenie were all recognized before their match on Saturday morning at Maple lanes.

Then the Cardinals swept away the competition.

Scores for Stevens: Corliss 193/179, Craig 221/204, Grenier 192/161, Raymond 227/178, and Bard 206/201. Team results: 1. Stevens, 2. Merrimack, 3. Pinkerton, 4. Coe-Brown.

Rapanotti earns 100th winGreen Mountain took the girl’s game after the Chieftains exploded for a big third quarter then held off a Cosmos run for the 29-23 win while Brian Rapanotti’s boy’s team took charge early and headed home with a 59-42 win, giving Rapanotti his 100th win in a career that began in Springfield.

Windsor seniors honoredWindsor bowling competed against Brattleboro and Randolph during Saturday’s Senior Day in which Patrick Kelly, Damon Eddy, and Sarah DeSchamp were honored.

Top Scores for Windsor on Saturday: Avery Bean 225/141, Patrick Kelly 208/205, and Sarah DeSchamp 137/125. Damon Eddy rolled a 149 second game.

Brattleboro ended the day grabbing the top spot while Randolph edged the Jacks to claim the second spot.

Windsor hosts next week in Barre in a four-team match against the top team in the state, Fair Haven, as well as South Burlington and Enosburg.
