Clara Wrisley Sprague

Clara Wrisley Sprague CLAREMONT — After a period of failing health, Clara Wrisley Sprague, 84, of Claremont, New Hampshire, died Sunday, Jan. 23, 2022, in Dunedin, Florida, surrounded by family. Clara was born Dec. 12, 1937. She married James Sprague in October 1957. They were married 61 years. Together, they ran Sprague Machine and Sunrise Vending, retiring in 2000. Clara is survived by her son, Richard Sprague and his wife, Hi Sook, of Lorton, Virginia; her daughter, Susan Sprague Love and her husband, Anthony, of Claremont, New Hampshire; her brother, Charles Wrisley and his wife, Elaine; her sister, Charlotte Valis and her husband, John; and her sister, Anne Parker. Clara was blessed with seven grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and was excited for the arrival of her first great-great-grandchild this spring. Clara was predeceased by her brother, Daniel Wrisley; her son, Timothy Sprague in 1998; and her husband, James Sprague in 2018. Clara was an avid bowler, reader and baker. She also enjoyed sewing, embroidery, knitting, gardening and canning. Clara was active in her communities. She loved organizing activities, outings, gatherings and card games with her friends and for her retirement community in Florida. Clara volunteered at the Claremont Opera House for years. Family was the most important thing to Clara. She was never happier than when family was coming to visit or getting together. The family plans to hold a “Celebration of Life” in Clara’s memory in June. A private burial will be held with immediate family members in attendance.
