Diane “Dee Dee” Tracy SPRINGFIELD, Vt. — Diane M. “Dee Dee” Tracy, formerly of Springfield, Vermont, passed away in the comfort of her home surrounded by the love of family, on March 10, 2022. Diane was born in Springfield, Vermont, on Feb. 28, 1961, the youngest of eight children, to Mary E. (Cryan) and William D. Tracy Jr. She was a member of the Springfield High School Class of 1979 and graduated with honors from Northeastern in 1986 with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism. An avid reader and history lover, Diane dedicated a great deal of her time researching her Irish ancestors compiling a wealth of information that she shared with her extended family. Massachusetts was Diane’s home for the last 43 years. She was a loving sister, aunt, respected worker and dear friend. The four Murphy children and their families embraced Dee Dee as a second mother and grandmother welcoming her company at all family celebrations, holidays and everyday events. She is survived by her three sisters, MaryAnne Murphy, of Wilmington, Massachusetts, Patricia Tracy Morris, of Weare, New Hampshire, and Pamela Reuss, of Harwich, Massachusetts; three brothers, William D. Tracy, of Aiken, South Carolina, John Patrick Tracy, of Burlington, Vermont, and Mark E. Tracy, of Quincy, California; along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents, Mary E. and William D. Tracy Jr.; and her brother, Richard E. Tracy. A private service will be held at a later date. Diane will be laid to rest with her maternal grandparents, Mary and William Cryan, in St. Joseph Cemetery in West Roxbury, Massachusetts.
