Shawn W. Eaton NEWPORT — Shawn Wayne “Crowbait” Eaton, age 49, passed away after a period of declining health, on March 11, 2022. He was born on July 19, 1972, in Newport, New Hampshire, to Larry Eaton and the late Beverly Wirkkala. Shawn grew up in Sunapee, New Hampshire, graduating from Sunapee Middle High School, Class of 1990. He worked at several different trades: a carpenter for Andy Pollari; a machinist for John Wiggins at Micro Precision; did concrete work for Shawn Huff; and worked at Abenaki Lumber, Springfield, New Hampshire. He enjoyed boating, fishing, shooting, horseshoes, and loved to dance. The most important thing to him was to be around family members. Shawn was predeceased by his mother, Beverly Wirkkala; his nephew, Justin “Buzzy” Brown; paternal grandfather, James L. Eaton, grandmother, Lauretta Eaton; maternal grandfather, Wayno Heino; and Robert and Helen Harrison. Surviving family members include son, Cameron Eaton; his father, Larry Eaton; sister, Debbie Brown and partner Greg Raffuse; brother, Randy Wright and partner Alice Halleck; sister, Lori Hooper and husband Robert Hooper; brother, Ricky Eaton and wife Joyce; brother, Mark Eaton; sister, Kerry Brown and husband Dana Brown; sister, Kassandra Eaton; Bill and Joe Hancock; nieces, Tamara Croteau and husband Chris, Natasha Brown and partner Travis Perry, Kayla Brown and husband Klay Pike, Ashley Richardson and husband Cory, and Mandy and husband Kris Page. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 7023, Merrifield, VA 22116, in honor of Shawn’s lifelong battle with diabetes. Following his wishes, no formal services will be held. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Newton-Bartlett Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
