Pleasant Street Revitalization Project
Construction Update for the week of 4/25/22 through 4/29/22
The City of Claremont’s contractor, B.U.R. Construction, will be installing gravels on Pleasant street between School Street and Glidden Street. Beginning Wednesday, temporary pavement removal will begin in preparation of fine grading the Pleasant Street travelway and parking stalls prior to base course pavement installation scheduled for Thursday, May 5, 2022. There may be impacts to through traffic and the number of parking spaces available during working hours within the work zone on Pleasant Street. Utilizing the City of Claremont’s public parking lots is encouraged during the pavement removal and fine grading operations. Permanent traffic signal work at the intersection of Broad Street and Glidden Street will continue, as well as a sewer manhole replacement in the area. Traffic through the area will be affected due to lane closures in the work area, slight delays through the area should be expected. Spring Clean-Up 2022
4/30 Claremont Conservation Commission-Trash pick up at the CLaremont Boat Launch beginning at 8 AM.
5/4 Claremont Conservation Commission-Trash pick up on the Stevens Brook Easement between Tractor Supply and North Street beginning at 9 AM.
5/15 Rocky’s Taqueria-Meet at Rocky’s from 9AM to 1 PM for trash pickup.
5/21 Claremont Rotary-Secure shred and electronics recycling event by donation at the Claremont Savings Bank parking lot from 9 AM to Noon.
City of Claremont-Spring Cleanup
The Spring Cleanup Project will begin on Monday, May 2, 2022 and continue through Friday, May 6, 2022. Per city council policy adopted on May 12, 2004, the Public Works Department will no longer accept or pick up leaves that are not in paper, biodegradable bags. These 30 gallon bags are available at various local department, grocery, and hardware stores. All compostable, paper bagged leaves must be on the curbside by 7 AM on Monday, May 2nd. No garbage, brush, or household items will be picked up. All areas will be covered only once.
