Christopher E. Peters NEWPORT — Christopher E. Peters, 60, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at the Jack Byrne Hospice Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire, on May 17, 2022. He was born on March 15, 1962, in Hartford, Connecticut, to Beverley (Lucious) Ames and the late William J. Peters. Christopher started working at Sturm Ruger on Aug. 30, 1982, working with Bill Ruger Sr., Bill Ruger Jr. and Tom Ruger, designing new products for the future. He was selected as one of the top four gunsmiths in the United States. Christopher enjoyed fishing for brown trout and brook trout. Deer hunting of any sort was most inviting and motorcycle country rides to anywhere were always an awesome adventure with friends and family. Surviving family members include his dearest wife, friend and companion, Jody Peters; mother, Beverley Ames; daughter, Valerie Crone and her husband, James; son, Nathan Peters; daughter, Heidi Fowler and her husband, Jay; son, Shaun LaBlanc; granddaughter, Meghan Bodreu; sister, Dee Peters; sister-in-law, Jeanne Mack and her husband, Randy; aunt, Carol Lucious; and many other extended family members. Calling hours will be held on Monday, May 23, 2022, from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. with a Masonic service starting at 6:30 p.m., at Newton-Bartlett Funeral Home, 42 Main St., Newport, New Hampshire.
