David G. Bunnell

David G. Bunnell CLEARWATER, Fla. — David George Bunnell passed away peacefully with family at his side in his home in Clearwater, Florida, on March 11, 2022. David was born Feb. 24, 1948, as the oldest of eight children, to George and Harriet (Smith) Bunnell. He was in the Navy for a short period of time. He married Jolene Ann Smith in 1967 and they had three children, Jeanine, Brent and Lonnie. They divorced in 1995. David married Mary Louise Barron in 2018, in their Clearwater home. He had several jobs throughout his life, including working for Pine Tree Castings and Knott’s Tree Service. His longest career was painting interior and exterior of homes in New England and Florida until he retired in 2006. His passions included spending time with his many lifelong friends and family, fishing, target shooting, playing cards, listening to good old country music and watching westerns. He had a great memory for dates and names. Many tried to beat his knowledge of movie and music trivia and many lost. He was predeceased by both his parents, George and Harriet; his brothers, Bruce and Leo “Gus,” and one sister, Janice Bunnell. He is survived by his wife, Mary, stepson Kenny, both of Florida; daughter Jeanine, of White River Junction, Vermont; sons, Brent and Lonnie, both of Claremont, New Hampshire; his brother, Ken, of Unity, New Hampshire; sisters, Ann Bunnell, of Claremont, New Hampshire, Gloria Maloy, of Rochester, New York, Martha Zabielski, of Charlestown, New Hampshire; one uncle, Paul Bunnell, and two aunts, Irene and Jan Bunnell, all of Claremont, New Hampshire; four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins. There will be a graveside service 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 4, 2022, in St. Mary’s Cemetery in West Claremont as his ashes will be placed along with his father, George, and brother, Bruce. A celebration of life will follow at 12 p.m. at Arrowhead Pavilion. All family and friends are invited to attend this potluck luncheon.
