Lawrence J. O’Connor WESTMORELAND — Lawrence Joseph O’Connor, 93, passed away peacefully at Maplewood Nursing Home in Westmoreland, New Hampshire, on Saturday, May 28, 2022. “Larry” or “Buddy” to family and friends, was born on March 3, 1929, in Bellows Falls, Vermont, the second of four sons born to Thomas F. and Clara B. (Ostrowski) O’Connor. He attended St. Charles Parochial School in Bellows Falls and was a 1947 graduate of Bellows Falls High School. His first and lasting loves were music and theater which he pursued throughout his high school days with a local group known as the Rockingham Players. Post-graduation, he continued pursuit of his thespian interests, graduating from the Feagin School of Drama and Radio in New York City in 1950. He served his country for two years in the U.S. Army after which he opted for a business career. Pursuing select business courses at the City College of New York, he subsequently secured the position of services manager for industry-leading Doyle, Dane and Bernbach Advertising Agency in New York and later, with Gray Real Estate Management Agency in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He retired in 1994. He is survived by two brothers, William E., of Westminster, Vermont, and Paul M., of Walpole, New Hampshire; his sister-in-law, Marlene O’Connor, of Westminster, Vermont; one nephew, Michael, of Williston, Vermont; two nieces, Shannon, of Washington, New Hampshire, and Erin, of Boulder, Colorado; five grandnieces and -nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and brother, John F., of Glastonbury, Connecticut. There will be a calling hour from 10-11 a.m. on Saturday, June 4, 2022, at the Fenton and Hennessey Funeral Home, 55 Westminster St., Bellows Falls, Vermont. A funeral Mass will be celebrated following at 11 a.m. at the St. Charles Church in Bellows Falls Vermont, with interment to follow in St. Charles Cemetery in Westminster, Vermont.
