Dennis K. Brown

Dennis K. Brown BROWNSVILLE, Vt. — Dennis Kneeland Brown, 75, passed away Saturday, May 28, 2022, at the Elm Wood Center in Claremont, New Hampshire, after an extended period of failing health. He was born Feb. 18, 1947, in Windsor, Vermont, to Kneeland and Shirley A. Brown. He grew up in Brownsville, Vermont, and was a graduate of Windsor High School class of 1965. After graduation, Dennis served in the Army National Guard. Upon his return home, he worked at GE in Ludlow. He was also a road foreman in West Windsor, and the water service technician at Ascutney Mountain Resort. Dennis was well-known for his dry sense of humor, a lifelong passion for old cars and motorcycles, and his love for potato salad, baked beans and hot dogs. His garage was the meeting place for many of his friends and family, where not much was done but the world problems were often solved. Inspired by the book “Travels with Charlie,” he traveled by car with two friends across the country right after high school. Through the years, he and wife Nancy Brown traveled to many places, including Nova Scotia, Florida, Georgia, England and Ireland, as well as many road trips to Michigan to visit his in-laws. He is survived by his wife, Nancy; his sister, Mary Jane Wentworth; Nancy’s brothers, Jerry, Cooper and Ted; Nancy’s sister, Joy Martin; several very well-loved nieces, nephews, great-nieces and -nephews; and many, many cherished friends and relatives. He was predeceased by his parents and brother-in-law Bruce Wentworth. A graveside service will take place in the Brownsville Cemetery on Sunday, June 5, at 4 p.m. Following the service, a short reception will be held at the Pavilion behind the Brownsville Community Church. Memorial donations may be made to Lucy Mackenzie Humane Society, P.O. Box 702, Brownsville, VT 05037.
