Beverly A. Wheeler NEWPORT — It is with great sorrow that the family of Beverly Ann Wheeler, 75, announces her passing on May 29, 2022, at Valley Regional Hospital, surrounded by loved ones, after a period of declining health. Beverly was born in Concord, New Hampshire, on March 4, 1947, the daughter of John and Alice (Densmore) Shampney. Beverly and her husband, Russell, spent 50 years together, just recently celebrating their 45th anniversary. Many of those years were spent living in Newport. She worked for several years as an LNA at Woodlawn Nursing Home. Beverly was a dedicated mother and loving wife. She treasured her husband and children. Beverly embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as Grandma. There was nothing Beverly liked better than an interesting conversation with a good friend or family member. Beverly loved her grandkids and great-grandkids. She would call them often and spend as much time as she could with them. Everyone in the family enjoyed gathering at her house. She was the matriarch, the rock for her entire family, and all who loved her dearly will never forget her tenacity, wit, charm, grace. She enjoyed having coffee on her porch, listening to wind chimes, camping, and yard sailing. She liked gardening, feeding the birds, and she even secretly liked feeding those pesky squirrels. Beverly was predeceased by her parents and her sister, Jennie Fisher. She is survived by her husband, Russell Wheeler; her four daughters, Dawn Miller, Alison Gardner, Sherry Renz and Marjorie Batchelder; her brother, Ronald Shampney; 13 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Per her wishes, no formal services will be held but she will be forever remembered. Newton-Bartlett Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
