Vermont Construction Details

TRAFFIC IMPACT:

Motorists will encounter a lane reduction and a lane shift in the Northbound and Southbound lanes of the interstate. A crossover traffic pattern has been installed and traffic has been reduced to one lane of travel in each direction within the construction zone. This pattern will remain in place throughout the construction season into the Fall.

Width restrictions are in place on both the Northbound and Southbound lanes of travel. Lane width in each direction is 14 feet maximum. There are no width restrictions for the on and off ramps at Exit 8.

A speed reduction of 55 mph is in place, and fines are doubled for speeding within the construction zone.

Shoulder closures and alternating one-way traffic on Route 131 under the bridge may be required next week.

CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES, WEEK OF 6/20/22:

Crews are currently working on the southern approach to Bridge 30N.

Substructure repairs on Bridge 30N will continue. Shoulder closures will be required on VT Route 131. This may result in alternating one-way traffic at times.

Crews will continue forming the F-barrier on the bridge next week. F-barrier is a 4 foot concrete guardrail along the bridge deck.

Please note that there will be trucks and equipment entering and leaving the closed work area on I-91. Motorists should not follow construction vehicles into closed off areas.

LOCATION: Bridges 30N and 30S over the Exit 8 interchange on I-91. They span VT Route 131 in Weathersfield.

PROJECTED COMPLETION: October 2022

TRAFFIC IMPACT:

One-way alternating traffic patterns will be in effect at various locations along Route 11 throughout the week of 6/20/22. The traveling public should expect more than one area of one-way alternating traffic next week, and should anticipate delays.

Route 11 Paving:

Milling of the roadway on the minor arterial portion of the project (in Springfield) has been completed. Paving of a level course of asphalt on Route 11 near the Interstate will take place early in the week next week. One lane alternating traffic will be required during milling operations. Expect delays.

Crack sealing operations are underway along the minor arterial portion of the project and will continue next week.

Hot in Place paving operations have been completed along Route 11 between Chester and Springfield.

The traveling public will encounter crack sealing, sign installation and guardrail operations at various locations along the length of the project. Please anticipate more than one flagging operation and plan for delays in your travel. It is strongly recommended that extra time be added to travel plans if traveling through the project area.

Paving of the final, or wearing course of asphalt is scheduled to begin Saturday, 6/25.

Motorists should expect one-way alternating traffic in the vicinity of active construction operations. Please anticipate delays and add extra time to your travel plans.

Hot-in-Place paving process has been completed along Route 11 from

Chester to Springfield.
