Twin State Soccer Preview

CLAREMONT- Claremont has been a soccer town for years, as many great players have started in the youth programs and played for the Cardinals. This year, the Stevens soccer program has been recognized again, and will have two players on the field Saturday as Brynn Murphy and Dylan Chambers will be representing the Granite State in the Lions Twin State Soccer Cup on Saturday, July 16,2022, at Hanover High School. Last year’s games were played in a steady rain on the turf behind Hanover High but this year the weather looks perfect. The men start the day with a 1 PM start, while the women kickoff at 4 PM.

The Men’s game began in 1975 while the first Woman’s game was played in 1984. Vermont swept last year’s game under a steady rain as the Green Mountain girls won 3-2, while the boys won 4-1. No games were played in 2020 as the venue was shifted from Castleton State University to Hanover.
