7th Annual LaFont Memorial Race

CLAREMONT — The seventh annual Cody LaFont Memorial Race sits atop a six-division card of racing this Friday, July 22, as Claremont Motorsports Park roars into the second half of its 2022 racing schedule after a week off for its traditional summer break.

The LaFont Memorial, presented by Frazer’s Place, will be run in twin-24-lap race format this year, with the huge Pure Stock field battling in two 24-lap feature events for the coveted LaFont trophy Friday. Green Mountain State hot shoe Joey Jarvis has won the last two LaFont races, but this year’s victory lap will be well earned, as no fewer than seven different drivers have already posted 2022 feature wins in the mega-competitive LaValley Building Supply Pure Stock division.

Windsor’s Kodi Sabins, a threat to win anytime he’s on the track, and a former LaFont Memorial winner, has already won a CMP feature this summer, but he’ll be strongly tested in Friday’s Twin 24s, as two-time 2022 winners JD Stockwell, Craig Smith, Nolan McClay, and rookie Aiden White, along with single-race winners Colton Martin and Andrea St. Amour are also expected to compete.

The R.E. Hinkley Fuel Co. Street Stocks, Late Model Sportsmen, Mini Stocks, 602 Dirt Modifieds, and Six Shooters will also be in action on Friday at Claremont Motorsports Park. Post time for the Frazer’s Place event is 7:30 p.m.
