Dear editor,
While the 4th of July festivities in Claremont are always a joyous occasion, how sad it is afterwards to always observe a significant uptick in the amount of litter left behind in our parks and streets. If we want to show pride for our country, we should show pride for our city too, and keeping it clean is the very first step.
And now that ’tis is the season to be out and about, ideally with friends, an easy way to show pride in our community is by tending to a little corner of it through the Adopt-a-Spot Program of the Parks and Rec department. Adopt-a-Spot gives citizens, non-profits, businesses, and other organizations the opportunity to help beautify Claremont by signing up to spruce up a spot of your choice! It can be a one off, regular, or semi-regular occurrence, it’s good for you and the environment, and it helps bring recognition to your organization.
Many Claremont residents and groups have already signed up, but we need more help to really make an impact. Luckily, teamwork makes the dreamwork, and many hands make light work. Would you lend us a hand? Check out the Adopt-A-Spot Info. Page and the Adopt-A-Spot Application Form on the Claremont Parks and Rec webpage.
