Allen R. Belisle CHARLESTOWN, NH — Allen R. Belisle, 73, formerly of Charlestown, NH, passed away on Wednesday, July 20, 2022, unexpectedly after being transported to VRH from a short stay at Sullivan County Nursing Home. Allen was son, brother, uncle and great uncle to his family and a good friend of many. He is predeceased by his parents, Raymond J. Belisle and Barbara G. Belisle of Claremont, NH. He is survived by three sisters, Carole E. Ferland, Barbara A. Desharnais of Claremont, NH and Pamela B. Holt of Hooksett, NH, a long-time friend, Sandi Cragin of Claremont and many nieces and a nephew. Allen graduated from Steven’s High School and was a member of the class of 1966. He went on to college at Hartford Institute of Accounting and Keene State College. He also attended New Hampshire Institute of Technology in Portsmouth, NH. In his younger days, he was almost always found at Arrowhead Ski Area in the winter and in summer he loved to follow dirt track racing. He continued with both as an adult. He enjoyed camping, going to Wells Beach in summer, watching NASCAR racing, especially the Modifieds and the Truck series. He also enjoyed his Porches and Saab cars. He will be remembered by some for the “Soft Serve Shop”, a homemade cream store that he opened across from Claremont’s Town Hall and Police Department. Summers walking around Broad Street Park were made better by stopping in for dish or a cone of his delicious ice cream. He will be remembered by others for selling tires to the race car drivers at the local speedway. He loved being in the “pits” with the crew members. He said recently that if he died soon, he wouldn’t be afraid or care because he’s had a good life. He wanted to “go in his sleep”, and he got his wish. He will be missed. Arrangements are with Stringer Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 146 Broad Street, Claremont, NH 03743. To view an online memorial or send a private message of condolence, visit www.stringerfh.com
