Benoit “Benny” Laliberté CLAREMONT —Benoit “Benny” Laliberté, 80, of Claremont passed away peacefully on July 21, 2022. Benny was born in St Anselme, Quebec, Canada on May 24, 1942, son of Gertrude and Alphonse Laliberte. After spending his childhood in St Anselme, Quebec, Canada, he moved to the United States in 1963 to work in the construction industry with his father and uncles. Introduced by mutual friends on a return trip to St Anselme/St Jean, Benny met Lise Rousseau. Benny and Lise were married in 1966 and moved to Claremont NH where they raised their family. In 1974, Benny started his own construction business, BNB Builders and would later work with son, Brian. He was well known in the community and worked on many projects in the local area over the course of a fifty plus year career. Benoit is survived by two daughters, Nancy Laliberte OBrien and Sylvia Carlson and two sons, Norman and Brian Laliberte: his son in laws, Stephen Carlson and Terry OBrien and his only grandchild, Zachary Carlson. He was predeceased by his wife of 56 years, Lisa Laliberte who passed away on July 9, 2022, who he cared for during her brief illness. Benoit is also survived by four brothers; Marcel, Jean-Luc, Real and Roger Laliberte and four sisters; Estelle, Rosaline, Hughette, and Bibiane Laliberte along with brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws and many nieces and nephews throughout Quebec, Canada. Family was important to Benny. He took frequent trips to Canada for family events and visited his children often throughout his life. Benny was always willing to lend hand to family and friends. He along with Lise would always have a garden full of fresh vegetables in the summertime. He enjoyed the holiday traditions and food that Lise made (meat, sugar pie and buche de noel). Benny was a communicant of St Mary’s Church and was an active member of the Knights of Columbus. Benoit and Lise – Together in Life and Love for 56 years and forever. They were much loved and will be missed. Friends may call at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street in Claremont, NH on Thursday evening from 5 to 7 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Mary’s Church on Friday morning at 11 AM. Interment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery. Calling hours and the funeral Mass will be for both Benny and Lise. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
