Beryl Simpson Solow CLAREMONT — Beryl Simpson Solow of Quechee, VT, passed away on August 3, 2022, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Beryl was born July 20, 1936, to the late Beatrice (Nolin) and Robert “Scotty” Simpson. She attended Stevens High School in Claremont, NH, where she was an accomplished athlete in cheering, swimming, diving, tennis, gymnastics and ice skating. She had a brief career as a dental x-ray technician before she found her true passion in gardening while working as a job foreman at Skyline Gardens. Beryl married her first husband, the late James A. Moulton, of Claremont, NH, in 1956. They raised two children, Heidi and Keith in Springfield, VT. Beryl married her second husband, the late Dr. Charles Solow, in 1991. Longtime residents of Quechee, VT, they shared many passions, including traveling, agility dog camps and a great love for nature and animals. Their beloved dogs, Skye, Lilly, Gabby and Shelby, were a great source of pride and joy for them both. They spent their last years together at The Village at White River. Beryl continued her interest in gardening as a member of the Norwich, VT, garden club. In addition, she had a great love for reading, listening to classical and Scottish music and any song by Alan Jackson. She enjoyed visiting local nursing homes with her beloved Sheltie, Skye, as a companion animal to the residents, and she continued her endless love for animals and nature with an extensive collection of decorative bunnies. She loved to entertain family and friends, especially at Christmas. Beryl will be greatly missed by her daughter, Heidi Major of Deltaville, VA, her son, Keith Moulton (Sara) of Springfield, VT, and grandchildren Jami Bohdan (Jason), Cori, Jacob and Katherine, and great grand-daughter Josie, and Charles’ children, Barbara Solow (Tim Vercellotti) of Florence, MA, Marjorie Moorehead (Rob) of Lebanon, NH, and Nancy Solow (Abid Assab) of Florence, MA, and grandchildren Sam, Max, John, and Sophia, In addition, Beryl had many cousins, nieces and nephews. The family is comforted that she is now at peace with Charles and Jim, along with her beloved brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Joan Simpson, and her Mom and Dad. Furthermore, the family wishes to thank the warm, caring staff at The Village at White River, Dr. Barbara Lazar and the Bayada Hospice Team, who all treated her with love, kindness and respect.
