Tyler Kavanagh

Tyler Kavanagh OLYMPIC VALLEY, CA — Born July 2, 1985 Tyler passed away on August 26, 2022 as a result of a tragic automobile accident in CA. Tyler attended school in Sunapee, NH and earned his baccalaureate degree from the University of NH. After graduation, he spent a year living in Washington D.C., working, and making lifelong friendships before moving west to ski the “big” mountains and continue his career in the culinary arts. Inspired by the life of his beloved Poppa Tucker, T discovered that he loved to prepare delicious food to share with others. His life’s journey next took him to California’s Olympic Valley where he lived, skied, and worked with his brother Jonathan in several area restaurants before meeting the love of his life, Jennifer. When not walking their two beloved dogs, Sherman and Arnold, Tyler and Jen could be found skiing, hiking, camping, or traveling the world. Jen was the light of his life and he referred to her as his “Sunshine”. He loved his life in CA, the many dear friends he made there, and, of course, the Tahoe bluebird days. He leaves behind his loving wife Jennifer (Morrison) Kavanagh of Olympic Valley, CA; parents Peter and Tara Kavanagh of Sunapee NH; brother Jonathan and partner Theresa Dyer of Sacramento, CA; Auntie Kris Lohmann and husband Glen of New London, NH; Uncle Kevin Meigh and his wife Diana of East Meadow, NY; Uncle Jimmy (Bones) Meigh of Calverton, NY; extended family members, and dear friends on both coasts, all beloved by him yet too numerous to list here. In lieu of flowers, donating to a non-profit working to support mental health, or environmental issues would best honor Tyler’s life and wishes. A Celebration of Tyler’s beautiful life will be held at a future date to be announced.
